host the CTLLE Research Symposium.

What is the Format for Papers/Presentations:

Papers / presentations accepted at the Symposium include Academic Presentations with Journal Publication, Practitioner Presentation without Journal Publication and Gallery Walks for new graduates.  Full submission guidelines, and special details for each category,  can be found on the sidebar to the left under the tab, Paper Submission Guidelines.  Each paper will be fully refereed in a double-blind review process.  Full Papers and Round Table Papers that are accepted will be published in the University of Nebraska at Omaha's open-access online journal, The Journal of Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Leadership in Education. 

 

When are Symposium Manuscripts Due to the Editors:

Written manuscripts are due to the editors (Dr. Bridget Franks and Dr. Elliott Ostler) by October 20, 2016.  Notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the authors in early October.  To be considered for publication, papers must be complete when submitted.

CTLLE Symposium Mission: 

The mission of the Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership in Education Symposium is to foster discussion, inspire innovation, and provide educators with a regional forum to disseminate research findings, develop research strategies on works in progress, comment on best practices, provide commentary on Educational books and other professional publications, and provide other innovative thinking and creative activities across all areas of Education.

 

Where and When is the Symposium:

The Symposium will be held November 8, 2016 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Milo Bail Student Center.  A symposium agenda will be available in October.

 

What Topics are Appropriate:

The Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership in Education Symposium is currently seeking high quality manuscripts in all areas related to professional and community education.  Manuscripts that qualify for presentation/publication at the Symposium will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Commentary and Research in General, Special, and Counseling Education

  • Special Topics and Essays in Literacy

  • Special Topics and Essays in Library Science and Media

  • Special Topics and Essays in STEM

  • Special Topics and Essays in Early Childhood

  • Special Topics and Essays in Educational Administration, Leadership, Law, and Policy

  • Special Topics and Essays on Home Schooling

  • Special Topics and Essays in Physical Education, Health Education, and Biomechanics

  • Descriptions of Innovative Curriculum and Teaching Materials in all disciplines

  • Descriptions of innovative Assessment Strategies and Research in all disciplines

  • Reviews of Educational Books and Materials

  • Descriptions of Educational Innovations and Inventions
